Quartz and Calcite on Matrix

Description:

Larger calcite crystals grown on matrix in combination with two generations of quartz crystals. The calcites are partly overgrown with the second generation of quartz. The first generation of quartz has a white coating on the faces and has grown on the green schist matrix. Many second generation crystals also grew on the matrix. In this area, a fine brown chlorite has deposited on the matrix.
