Quartz and Calcite on Matrix

Description:

A matrix specimen that is richly covered with different-sized quartz crystals the surfaces of which show a snowy layer. This layer reaches to the edges of the prisms ending there as if cut off. The tops are highly lustrous and transparent. Small light brown calcites have grown in between the crystals.
